Strategic and operational plan for $20M cloud-computing health IT company
About the Client
The client is the oldest and largest association of physicians in the United States. This professional association has more than 200,000 members and its mission is to promote public health and medical education.
Business Challenge
The association continuously works to enhance member value and desired a comprehensive strategic and operational plan for a subsidiary focused on providing health-related IT solutions. This initiative needed to provide guidance on business-building given current and future industry/market dynamics; articulate detailed financial projections; and translate findings into executable cross-functional growth plans.
How We Helped
Growth Decisions led the development of a 5-year strategic and operational plan. We facilitated multiple workshops with the subsidiary’s management team to develop growth plans, map strategic options, build financial projections and articulate cross-functional action plans.
As the result of the project, three main deliverable groups were created including:
1. Comprehensive business and operational plan with summaries of all workshops and outputs (playbook)
2. Pro-forma financials, operational model and balance scorecard including detailed statements, pricing models, sales pipeline modeling, budgets and performance scenarios. It also included definition of a key performance indicator (KPI) scorecard
3. Detailed cross-functional plans including unit objectives, goals, challenges, interdependencies, staffing plans, functional budgets, and key performance metrics per function
Our extensive experience in business planning, financial modeling, and operations enabled us to develop a comprehensive road map for the organization so they could better manage their growth challenges, team and resources.
Developed integrated growth strategy, marketing/branding and action planning for innovative water-access start-up. This project was nominated for the AMCF 2013 Value and Excellence in Consulting award.
